Before and after images to show the benefits of Halo laser skin resurfacingLesson #1: What does Laser Resurfacing do?

* All laser resurfacing treatments use wavelengths of energy, either ablative and/or non-ablative to penetrate through various levels of the skin to repair unwanted, damaged skin while promoting new collagen growth

Lesson #2: What is the Difference Between Ablative and Non-Ablative Laser Resurfacing?

* Traditional ablative lasers vaporize the outer layers of your skin making it a more invasive option with a longer period of downtime. You may have heard of lasers named CO2 and/or Erbium laser. These are both examples of ablative lasers.
* Non-ablative lasers work differently. Rather than destroying the targeted skin, they heat up your underlying skin tissue, leaving the outer layer of your skin intact. Creating heat in the deep layers of your skin is rejuvenating because it promotes the growth of new collagen and elastin

Lesson #3: How does the new kid on the block, Halo Laser Skin Resurfacing compare to older options?

If you were considering laser skin resurfacing prior to the existence of Halo™, you had to choose between a procedure that offered really great results but required a lengthy recovery, or a procedure with fast recovery but underwhelming results. The great news with Halo™ laser resurfacing is that now you can get the best of both worlds – great results with minimal downtime!

The Halo™ treatment is considered an innovative “hybrid” laser because it combines non-ablative and ablative laser technology, allowing it to be completely customizable in addressing multiples skin concerns. It truly offers the perfect balance of minimal downtime and visible results when compared to previous generations of lasers.

Lesson #4: Who Is a candidate for Halo™ laser resurfacing?

Halo™ laser treatments are unique in that they are for everyone. Here are some of the skin concerns Halo™ can help improve:

* Visible signs of aging such as fine lines and wrinkles
* Sun damage
* Uneven skin tone (brown spots, discoloured areas)
* Scarring (acne or otherwise)
* Enlarged pores
* Dullness and poor skin texture

Lesson #5: What does Halo™ feel like?

Your technician will make you as comfortable as possible during your Halo™ laser treatment. A topical anesthetic is applied and the system itself is equipped with cooling technology. Most patients experience very little discomfort, describing the treatment as a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations. After your treatment, you will continue to feel warm for an additional 30 minutes or longer if your skin was treated at a deeper level.

Lesson #6: How long do I have to hide after my laser resurfacing treatment?

One of the many Halo™ laser treatment benefits is that it can be customized to fit your lifestyle. If you are super busy and need to get back to your normal routine ASAP, a light treatment will create smooth, vibrant skin that’s ready for makeup the next day. A more intense treatment will give your skin a dramatic improvement with up to a week of downtime.

For the first 24 hours you should keep your skin protected and follow the instructions given to you by your laser clinician. After the first 24 hours you will look bronzed and your skin will begin to slough one to two days later. Over the next few days your new, rejuvenated skin will begin revealing itself. While initial results are seen in the first five to seven days after your Halo™ treatment, the regeneration of collagen beneath your skin’s surface continues to improve your complexion for months.

Hopefully these tips for laser skin resurfacing will help you overcome your fears and feel better knowing there are ways to reap all the benefits of this fabulous treatment with Halo™.
