Before Bellafill® treatment from APT Medical Aesthetics
After Bellafill® treatment from APT Medical Aesthetics

APT Medical Aesthetics is pleased to offer Bellafill® - a unique injectable collagen filler with microspheres that restores facial volume for beautiful, long-lasting results.  It is particularly effective at reducing nasolabial folds (the “smile lines” that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth), and in the United States is the only filler indicated to reduce acne scarring.  Bellafill® consists of 80% purified collagen and 20% polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microspheres. The PMMA re-creates the firm structure of younger skin by supporting the production of your body’s own collagen.

Bellafill® offers a new level of filler rejuvenation. Unlike other dermal fillers, Bellafill® restores rather than just fills, for natural enduring results. Clinical studies show that visible results from Bellafill® can last through five years, making it an ideal choice for patients seeking fewer injections with long-term results.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Bellafill® unique?

Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Bellafill® is a smooth injectable gel containing 80% purified collagen and 20% polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microspheres.  The PMMA re-creates the firm structure of younger skin by supporting the production of your body’s own collagen. Bellafill® is not suitable for injection into the lips or tear troughs.  Whereas hyaluronic acid fillers generally last 6-12 months, Bellafill® can last through five years.

How does Bellafill® work?

Bellafill® replaces facial volume and lessens the appearance of deep wrinkles or skin folds.  The collagen gel in Bellafill® provides immediate volume correction and lift.  Over time, the collagen is absorbed by the body while the PMMA microspheres remain in place.  This creates a matrix that supports production of the body’s own collagen for continued improvement and lasting correction.

What should I expect during a Bellafill® treatment?

Before proceeding with a treatment, one of our nurse injectors will meet with you to discuss your goals and desired outcomes, and determine if you are a candidate for Bellafill®.
Bellafill® treatment is no different than a typical dermal filler injection. It is administered using a fine needle or cannula and contains a local anaesthetic called lidocaine, which creates a more comfortable experience for the patient.  Following a Bellafill® treatment, some patients may experience slight redness, swelling, or bruising at the treated area.  These effects are temporary, can be covered with makeup, and will diminish over the next week.  If you are prone to bruising it is recommended that you abstain from alcohol, Advil® (ibuprofen), Aspirin® (ASA), and vitamin E for 3-4 days prior to your appointment.  You may also begin taking Arnica supplements, if desired.

Can Bellafill® be reversed?

No, Bellafill® cannot be reversed. Therefore, the ideal Bellafill® patient is one who is familiar and comfortable with dermal filler treatments, and who has enjoyed consistent results.
