What is Juvederm® made of?
All of the Juvederm® products are comprised of hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring sugar found in the body. Hyaluronic acid combines with water in the skin to gently restore volume loss, and smooth deep lines or folds.
Where can Juvederm® be used?
Dermal fillers are used to restore volume loss, smooth deep lines or folds, and enhance facial features. Common treatment areas include:
- Smile lines (nasolabial folds)
- Marionette lines (beneath the corners of the mouth)
- Tear troughs
- Back of the hands
- Chin and jawline
What can I expect from a Juvederm® treatment?
Your procedure will begin with a consultation with our nurse injector who will work with you to devise a treatment plan based on your needs and goals. The treatment involves injecting dermal filler under your skin, which takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes.
What results can I expect from a Juvederm® treatment?
You will see an instant improvement after dermal filler treatment. Results will continue to improve over the next two weeks as the filler settles and integrates with your own tissue.
Does Juvederm® treatment hurt?
All Juvederm® fillers contain a localized pain reliever, ensuring a comfortable experience for the patient.
Is there recovery time after a Juvederm® treatment?
Any injectable treatment may be accompanied by some minor redness, swelling or bruising. These effects are temporary and should not affect your normal activities, however it is good idea to schedule your treatment at least two weeks before any major social engagement. Most patients are able to resume regular activities immediately after the treatment.
How long will my results last?
Results from Juvederm® can last 6 to12 months or longer, depending on the product used.
